Applying a decorative coating on a glass- or glass-ceramic substrate (1), comprises applying a first layer (3) with a structured surface, and applying a second layer (4) on the first layer, where the second layer at least partially fills the structured surface, such that the material of the first layer transitions gradually to the material of the second layer. An independent claim is also included for a coated glass or glass-ceramic substrate, produced by the above method.
