The transformer (1) has an annular, iron core including a coil for an arrangement enclosing a conductor. The iron core is divided at a peripheral location (A), and opened and closed for placement on the conductor under deformation. The iron core is clampable with two overlapping ends by a clamping screw (6) in a closed condition. The ends of the iron core are prefixed by a form-fit detent connection (10) in an overlapping condition. One of the ends of the iron core is fastened in a retaining housing (12). The other end of the iron core is fixed in an insertion part (14).
