The switch (1) has switching outputs (4, 5) connected with outputs of logic gates (13, 23) e.g. OR and AND gates. First inputs of the logic gates are connected with software controlled control circuits (11, 21) for performing data communication with an actuator (9). Second inputs of the logic gates are connected switching-off inputs (2, 3) of the switch by bypassing the control circuits. The logic gates are adapted to generate a switching-off signal independent of a signal of the first inputs applied at the switching outputs upon receiving a switching-off signal at the switching-off inputs. The switching outputs and the switching-off inputs are designed as outer electrical terminals of the switch.
