The method involves receiving streaming media from a media source device at a first media output device. A command is received by movement or language at the first media output device to share the streaming media with a second media output device. Sharing of the streaming media between the first and second media output devices is initiated by the first media output device. A command for termination of the sharing of the streaming media is received, and termination of the sharing of the media is initiated. The media source device is a mobile telephone, a smartphone, a tablet, a personal digital assistant (PDA), MPEG audio layer-3 (MP3)player, a portable radio, a portable DVD player, a receiver, a laptop or a personal computer. An independent claim is also included for a media output device.
