The method involves moving the annular nozzle carrier (5) in longitudinal direction relative to the object (4). Several nozzles (7) are mounted on the nozzle carrier. A cleaning medium is blown onto the object to remove the oil or other debris adhering to the object. The nozzles are directed into an annular gap (8) between the object and the nozzle carrier tangent to the object.
