The arrangement (1) has a rotatable cylinder (3), and an intermediate chamber (4) that is associated with a cap (2) for facing a hood (7). A fluid applying unit (8) is utilized for applying a fluid i.e. hot air, in the chamber. The air is provided with a temperature that is in the range of 100 to 700 degrees Celsius and/or 100 degrees Celsius that is higher than ambient temperature. A set of lateral end portions (11) is arranged in the intermediate chamber in a region of the hood extending in circumferential direction of the cylinder. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a drying arrangement.
