The method involves conveying a carrier fabric web using a conveying device and applying a glue layer on the carrier fabric web using a splicer. A core material feed device is arranged vertically above the carrier fabric web, so as to supply elongated core material block vertically with respect to the carrier fabric web. The elongated core material block is cut according to a predetermined thickness, so that the elongated core material block of preset thickness is applied and pressed on the glue layer of the carrier fabric web. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) device for manufacturing surface core material for core layers of sandwich composite component; and (2) sandwich composite component.
