The method involves controlling start/stop process of common-rail combustion engine using a start/stop mechanism. The pressure in common rail combustion engine is controlled temporarily by pressure regulated valve which is operated by controller (20), during stop phase. The start-up value is determined based on the output signal from controller. An independent claim is included for arrangement for operating common-rail combustion engine.
