The fuel pump (1) has a piston (2) whose first side is provided with a fuel region (3) and second side is provided with an oil region (4). The fuel region is disconnected from the oil region by a seal portion (5). The axial direction of the seal portion is provided with sealing lips. The one of the sealing lips are provided with axial interruptions. The adjoining sealing lips without interruption are formed in the fuel region. The number of interruptions for the sealing lips is varied towards the oil region.
