The converter has a voltage input unit for receiving of input voltage from an alternating current source (101), and a switching circuit (103) for converting the voltage into an intermediate voltage. A resonator (104) has a capacitive element and an inductive element i.e. insulation transformer (105). A rectifier and smoothing circuit (106) rectifies electrical signal by reshaping in the switching circuit and the resonator. A voltage output unit outputs voltage received by the smoothing circuit, and a digital signal processor (110) controls on/off switching processes of the switching circuit.
