The transmission i.e. dual clutch transmission (1), has three countershafts (VW1-VW3) arranged on a secondary axis (3). One of input shafts (EW1, EW2) is connected with an output shaft (AW) by wheel planes (I-VI) and/or switching elements (S1-S7). Switching devices (SE1, SE4) are arranged on the secondary axis. Two of the countershafts (VW2, VW3) are connected with the other countershaft (VW1) by the switching devices. One of the switching devices (SE1) actuates one of the wheel planes (I) and includes a transmission element on a main axis (2) directly adjacent to a side of a drive (AN). The countershafts are solid shafts. The transmission element is a beveled wheel.
