The method involves generating a two-dimensional projection image (13) of a head (11) and a vascular tree (22). A detail (20) of an object i.e. catheter (19), is detected in the projection image. A three-dimensional correspondence (27) of the detail of the object in the projection image is computed for three-dimensional rotational scan (21). An interesting layer is determined from layer volumes (25) registered with the rotational scan based on the computed correspondence. A three-dimensional layer determined based on the determined interesting layer is covered and rendered with the image.
