The X-ray unit such as CT unit (1) has holding frame (3) for supporting the X-ray source (4). The X-ray detector (5) is arranged opposite to the X-ray source. An edge phantom (12) arranged in the holding frame, is movable between a measuring position arranged in the optical path between the X-ray source and the X-ray detector, and a rest position withdrawn from the optical path.
