The oscillating device (1) has a stationary drive element (3) that is arranged in operative connection with a membrane (2a) and is accommodated on an open-ended surface of hollow cylindrical drive housing (4). Two hollow cylindrical housing portions (4a,4b) are provided in the drive housing to concentrically enclose the surface fitting of the drive housing. The second housing portion is axially arranged and inserted in the first housing portion. A flexible electrical conductor (5) is driven by the drive element in the axial direction, and is clamped between housing portions. An independent claim is included for a method of assembling oscillating device.
