The light emitting tube (100) has two ends (102) with contact pins (104,106). The switching structures (108,110) are electrically connected with contact pins. A backup structure (112) is activated by introducing one end of tube into the socket so as to release the mechanical switching element for switching the switching structures in ON state. An independent claim is included for method for manufacturing light emitting tube.
