The total frequency band and signals relative to carrier frequencies, distance and location information of groups (12',14',16') of terminals (12,14,16) are provided. The sizes of frequency sub-bands assigned with subcarrier frequencies are defined according to requirements. The relative distance and/or position determination signals are transmitted between terminals in regions of edges of frequency subbands. The distance and position of terminals are determined by transmitting signals corresponding to different subcarrier frequencies between the terminals.
