The serial torsional vibration damper (100) has an input flange for connection with a drive motor, an intermediate flange (115) and a spring system (130) for elastic coupling of the input flange with the intermediate flange. The intermediate flange is made of smooth flat material and has a section extending in a rotation plane. The intermediate flange has another section, which extends perpendicular to the rotation plane for attachment with one of the spring systems.
