The device (1) has a knocking head (6) comprising a knocking element (7) that is actuatable against a resetting element. A retainer (2) is fastened at a processing machine (3) and supplies driving power to the processing machine. The knocking element is radially movable perpendicular to a longitudinal axis (A) of the retainer. An operation volume acted upon with pressurized air performs a direct activation of the knocking element, and is in connection with the knocking element. A knocking tip is arranged radially outside the knocking element.
