The valve (28) has a fluid inlet (28C) for receiving a fuel cell reactant. A fluid outlet (28D) is fluidly arranged downstream of the fluid inlet. A fluid reactant transit (28B) cooperates with the fluid inlet and the fluid outlet. One of the transit, the fluid inlet and the fluid outlet defines an orifice passage (29A) i.e. passive orifice passage, which is formed with a sharp edge such that a portion of moisture contained within the fuel cell reactant that is deposited on the sharp edge is conveyed from the orifice passage in environmental conditions. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for inhibiting freeze-related blockage of a reactant flow path in a fuel cell system of a motor car (2) a method for supporting cold catalytic heating during a fuel cell stack cold start in an environmental condition.
