The present invention relates to a milk derivative including the following components by weight: non-denatured milk serum proteins: 10-95%; mineral matter: 1-5%; sodium: 0.02-0.4%; fat: less than 0.4%, for the use thereof in developing and/or maintaining the physical condition of mammals, such as competition animals, in particular horses. The invention specifically relates to such a milk derivative for the use thereof in stimulating bone mass growth and/or in preventing bone diseases in competition animals subjected to repetitive and intense physical conditioning.
