COSMETIC USE OF A FRENCH MANNE EXTRACT

Use of Manna ash or its extract (I) as a cosmetic active agent, is claimed. Independent claims are included for: (1) a cosmetic or dermatological composition comprising (I); and (2) a device in the form of a pot, pump-dispenser bottle, wipe, mask, transdermal device, patch, spray, capsule or granules, comprising (I) or the composition. ACTIVITY : Dermatological; Angiogenesis Stimulator; Endocrine-Gen. MECHANISM OF ACTION : 5-Alpha reductase activator. The ability of (I) to activate 5-alpha reductase was tested in transformed human fibroblast culture. The result showed that (I) increased the activity of 5-alpha reductase cells to 151% to stimulate the production of sebum and to recreate a watertight and hydrophobic barrier.
