The method involves gradually closing a clutch, and measuring speed (We) of input shafts (AP1, AP2), where the input shafts are attached to the clutch that is connected with an engine of a vehicle. Integration of speed difference with a gear ratio between the input shafts is performed to determine evolution of an angle of estimated clearance of a dual-clutch transmission (DCT) type gearbox (1) according to a preset time period. The position of the kiss-point of the clutch corresponding to the time is determined when the angle of estimated clearance of the gearbox crosses a threshold value.
