The device has a grid (7) extending over a surface of a deformable support (1) to protect a back of the device against impacts. The grid comprises modules (8) made of rigid material and longitudinally arranged one above the other to form longitudinal rows (9, 9a-9c) such that the arrangement of modules limits a longitudinal bending of the support toward a rear side and allows a forward bending. The module rows transversely bend and/or twist the support by relative displacement of the rows with each other. The support includes a ventilated fabric layer facing toward an absorption layer (4). The modules are designed as upper modules (8a-8c) and lower modules (8a'-8c').
