The method involves carrying out weighting, according to an image (Im), of components (wp) of a vector representing a mark in a transformed field, where the weighting is a function of textures of zones in the image. The weighting is carried out by assigning a weighting coefficient of low value e.g. zero, for a uniform texture zone, and assigning a weighting coefficient of high value e.g. one, for a contrasted texture zone. The vector is projected (S02) in a pseudorandom subspace. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a computer program comprising a set of instructions for implementing a method for tattooing a digital image by insertion of a mark in a transformed field (2) a digital image processing device for tattooing a digital image by insertion of a mark in a transformed field.
