Method for monitoring quality-of-service for packet flow between source node and destination node, involves dynamically estimating available bandwidth on link, and allocating available bandwidth to different queues
The method (1) involves storing packet flows to a destination node in queue per class of service (2), and dynamically estimating the available bandwidth on a link in real-time for the flows to the destination node (3), where the flows are transported by a telecommunication network. The estimated available bandwidth is allocated (4) to different queues according to a determined distribution, where the bandwidth allocation is effected in the form of allocation of tokens, and the tokens that are not used by one queue are reassigned to other queues. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for monitoring QoS for a packet flow between a source node and a destination node (2) a telecommunication system for implementing the method for monitoring QoS for a packet flow between a source node and a destination node (3) a computer program for monitoring QoS for a packet flow between a source node and a destination node (4) a data carrier storing program instructions for monitoring QoS for a packet flow between a source node and a destination node.
