The device (1) has a load (2) e.g. transistor, whose impedance varies according to a control signal i.e. continuously varying signal, where the load is connected to terminals of a photovoltaic generator (3). A characteristic determination unit determines a set of current measurements (5) and voltage measurements (6) at terminals of the load for a set of values of the impedance of the load during maximum measurement time. A variation unit varies the control signal of the load during the maximum measurement time preferably less than 10 milliseconds. An independent claim is also included for a method for measuring parameters relative to a photovoltaic generator.
