The door has two U-shaped side elements spaced parallel and opposite to form a receptacle and comprising a U-shaped cross-sectional profile. Multiple panels (6) are mounted in the U-shaped cross-sectional profile. Each side element is jointly formed by an element (5A). An L-shaped profile of the element is associated with a removable branch (7A) of the U-shaped cross-sectional profile. The removable branch comprises a hook (24) complementary to an opening (25) of the element, and is mounted on a mechanically reinforced zone. An independent claim is also included for a method for assembling an overhead door.
