Time domain reflectometry system (501) for the unambiguous localization of at least one singularity in a cable (503), characterized in that it comprises means for analysis and calculation (511) of adapted reflectometry signals generating two injection signals fA, fB from at least one reflectometry signal s (t), two digital-to-analog converters (512,513) for converting said digital signals f (n), f (n) into analog signals f (t), f (t), two means for coupling and transmitting (518, 519) said signals f (t), f (t) at two distinct points (A, B) of said cable (503), at least one converter analog-digital system (514, 515) for converting the signal reflected on said singularity and received by said coupling and transmission means (518, 519), said analysis and calculation means (511) being further adapted to receive and analyze said reflected signal , converted numerically, to produce a temporal reflectogram, the said signals f (n), f (n) being constructed so that the signal propagating on one side of said cable (503) is equal to said reflectometry signal s (t) and the signal propagating on the other side of said cable (503) is substantially zero.
