The system has a base section (5) comprising segments (7) separated by a longitudinal space (E) that allows communication between a plenum and rest of a room. Each segment has a longitudinal housing (8) with a shoulder (10) carried by an inner face of a wall (11) that delimits the housing. A harpoon (13) is attached to periphery of a tensioned flexible membrane (2) to be engaged inside the housing to rest on the shoulder. A connecting section (14) is positioned on an edge of another wall opposite the former wall, and connects the segments with one another. The membrane is heat retractable and/or hot or cold extensible. An independent claim is also included for a method for removing a tensioned flexible membrane from a fixation system.
