The invention provides a reliable, simple and accurate method for obtaining a reference cell capable of measuring very low conductivities by avoiding calibration. The subject of the invention is a method for manufacturing a four-electrode reference cell for measuring the conductivity of a weakly conducting electrolyte, comprising four electrodes and a cylindrical support having four grooves machined on an outer face of the support, and each intended to receive an electrode, characterized in that it comprises a step of prior isolation of the entire surface of the electrodes by deposition of an adherent, electrically insulating coating, and a step of selectively machining the electrodes to selectively remove the insulating deposit of a part of the electrodes intended to come into contact with the electrolyte.
