The cell (10) has a containment vessel, and a mold (14) that is adapted to receive a sample (15) i.e. cement sheath, of a curable composition, where the mold is arranged in the containment vessel. An internal flexible envelope and a rigid strainer are arranged in the vessel, where the strainer is externally pressed against the envelope. The sample is compressed by a compressing unit by injection of fluid i.e. water, into the containment vessel around the mold. An independent claim is also included for a method for testing a hardening composition.
