The device (1) has a generation unit generating a sound signal from audio synthesis channels (10, 20, 30, 40), where the signal approaches an acoustic reference frame of a thermal engine. Characteristics of the signal evolve in real time according to evolution of dynamic parameters of a vehicle. A digital gain modulator (70) permanently varies amplitude of the channels according to a low frequency modulating signal. Amplitude and a period of the modulating signal are determined by an electronic controller (60) i.e. digital signal processing-type microprocessor, based on speed of a vehicle.
