The device has a support rod (11) mounted on an end of a control rod (1), and a mobile rack (12) in the form of a sleeve coaxial to the support rod. The rack is integral in translation with a brake pedal, where the rack is axially displaceable on the rod support such that the axial displacement is limited on a dead stroke (D). A stop unit limits the axial translation of the mobile rack relative to the support rod, where the stop unit defines the dead stroke, and solidarizes the mobile rack and the support rod, so as to allow a braking system to function.
