The method involves placing a user terminal (OC1) e.g. smartphone, in physical contact with another user terminal (OC2) e.g. TV, by a user (D1). A pairing request is transmitted (D2) in the form of a vibration signal (SV) by the former user terminal to the latter user terminal, where an inertial signature of the vibration signal is a representative of a predetermined pairing code that is intended to be recognized by the latter user terminal, and the vibration signal includes a waveform of a predetermined frequency.
