The station i.e. personal computer (PC), has a network interface i.e. universal serial bus (USB)interface (IC), to connect an entity (DP) i.e. USBpocket device, and active network interfaces (IR1, IR2) respectively connected to local area networks (RL1, RL2) e.g. Ethernetnetworks and locally addressed within the networks. Transfer components (MT1, MT2) are provided between each active network interface and the interface to transfer a broadcast frame (TB) locally addressed within the networks between the entity and a remote entity of the network. An independent claim is also included for a method for communication between an entity connected to a network interface of a data-processing station and a remote entity of distinct local area networks.
