The method involves allowing digital contents (CNT) e.g. audio, to be changed before restitution when access rights (D) are forfeited. The access rights are modified in a progressive manner with each restitution. The access rights are able to be modified when deterioration of the digital contents is possible. The digital contents are stored separately in a memory (MEM) e.g. ROM, for allowing reproduction of the contents at a later point of time. A content reader (RDR) is allowed to receive request for restitution of the contents in the memory. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a terminal (2) a computer program comprising a set of instructions to perform a method for accessing digital content (3) a recording medium comprising a set of instructions to perform a method for accessing digital content.
