Cosmetic composition comprises one or more hydrophobically modified cellulose with a hydrophobic group content of greater than 0.6 wt.% and one or more cationic surfactants of quaternary ammonium salt type with one or more ester groups. An independent claim is included for conditioning hair or cleaning of the body comprising applying the composition on the keratin materials and leaving the composition for an impact time without rinsing in the presence or absence of heat.
