Use of an extract of Ravenala sp. to soften the skin or mucous membranes, is claimed. Independent claims are included for: (1) composition for sensitive and/or reactive skin comprising a carrier and the extract of Ravenala sp.; and (2) device in the from a pot, a pump dispenser, a wiper, a mask, a transdermal patch, a patch, a spray, a capsule or soft gel comprising the composition.
