The blade (1) comprises a layer (1a) that is equipped with cutting edges of reduced thickness compared to a longitudinal thickening part (3) of the blade and forms a tightening unit for maintaining the blade in a blade holder, where the thickening part comprises side extensions (3a, 3b) extending on the layer in a direction of the edges from cutting. The blade further comprises: a rectangular strip, where the thickened part forms an octagon registered in the rectangular strip; and another layer separated by the tightening part. The blade (1) comprises a layer (1a) that is equipped with cutting edges of reduced thickness compared to a longitudinal thickening part (3) of the blade and forms a tightening unit for maintaining the blade in a blade holder, where the thickening part comprises a side extensions (3a, 3b) extending on the layer in a direction of the edges from cutting. The blade further comprises: a rectangular strip, where the thickened part forms an octagon registered in the rectangular strip; and another layer separated by the tightening part, where each layer is equipped with the side extension separating the two edges from cutting. The octagon includes curved concave segments (11) uniting large sides at small sides of the blade. The side extensions extend to a longitudinal side of the layer, and freely leave corners of the blade forming cut points and delimit two separate edges. The side extensions freely leave a continuous cut edge joining the corners of the blade before a side of the blade. A free end of the side extensions is inclined to carry out a cutting without burs of the lump. The curved concave segments are inclined in the free ends of the side extensions. A thickness of the layer comprising the cut edges is 0.2 mm. The thickening part has a thickness of greater than 0.4 mm. An independent claim is included for a cutting tool.
