The stud (1) has a truncated skirt (10) surrounding a central axis (X1), and a support unit (20) for supporting a rugby ball. Anchoring legs (31, 32) are formed in an extension of the skirt according to a direction opposed to the support unit of the rugby ball along the central axis. Each leg has a thickness equal to that of the skirt, where the skirt is made of stainless steel. Support strips (35, 36, 38) are formed in the extension of the skirt according to a direction radial to the central axis. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a positioning stud.
