The method involves receiving radio frequency of signals emitted by a signal transmitter i.e. pneumatic tire pressure pick-up unit, and changing resonance frequency of a localized antenna (10) by a control unit (13). A signal received by the antenna, signal strength values and variation of intensity values of the signal are detected during changing the resonance frequency. Target frequency having signal intensity that is maximum and/or that exceeds a threshold value is determined from the intensity values of the detected signal. The resonance frequency is adjusted to the target frequency. An independent claim is also included for a receiver for a car.
