The vehicle has a luggage compartment (6) closed by a luggage cover (10) including a rigid shelf (11) supported laterally in or on a side trimming shelf (13). The rigid shelf extends transversely to cover a permanent part (6A) of the compartment, and is provided with a tendelet (12) consisting of an occulting flexible sheet (17). The flexible sheet is enroulably supported by transverse rigid elements (16) to cover a flexible part (6B) of the compartment. A fastener unit (20) is provided between the rigid shelf and the tendelet.
