The device (D) has a cooling circuit (CR) in which a cooling liquid flows, where the circuit includes a main conduit (CP) to be housed in a space (E) defined in a battery housing (BO), and an auxiliary conduit (CA) housed in the space and provided with holes (T). A solenoid valve (MC1) is arranged to supply the cooling liquid to the main conduit in the absence of receipt of an alert instruction or to the auxiliary conduit for flooding the space via the holes upon receipt of an alert generated following the completion of selected alert instruction. An independent claim is also included for a battery.
