The apparatus has a man-machine interface comprising a luminous display (11) i.e. LCD touch screen, a remote sensing device (15), and an electronic control circuit (13) for controlling the display according to a predetermined criteria. The display receives a signal that is delivered by the remote sensing device. The electronic control circuit is utilized for controlling lighting of the display on reception of an object presence signal (14) delivered by the remote sensing device. The control circuit is insensitive with the presence of an object i.e. hand (26), apart from a detection zone (16).
