The system (1) has a closed receptacle (2) designed to receive a battery (4), and a ventilator (14), which aspires fresh air from outside of the receptacle to generate air flow in the receptacle so as to cool the battery. An electrical resistor (16) is placed upstream and opposite to the ventilator to generate another air flow pulsated by the ventilator in the receptacle for heating the battery. A command and control electronics (8) is integrated in the receptacle. Two openings form an air inlet and an air outlet of the receptacle. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating an air-conditioning system.
