The system has an autonomous alarm and monitoring power station (1), which is portable, miniature and in shape of a smartphone and integrated with a transmitter/receiver mobile telephony circuitry (16). The power station includes a touch screen, and integrates an infrasound intrusion detection system including an infrasound sensor (5). The detection system detects infrasounds (14) generated by an opening of a door (13) or a window of a room or a dwelling. The detectors and a radio siren (3) communicate with the power station by a radio. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating an alarm and monitoring system.
