The system has a fixing unit for fixing an elongated stud (1) and being equipped with a locking stop (15) and a prestressed elastic jaw (3) with variable opening. The stud and the jaw belong indifferently to the seat or to a floor of vehicle without belonging to a same element. The fixing point is assured by the penetration of the stud into the jaw until an irreversible locking position is materialized by support of the jaw against the stop. The stud is established in the floor and extended according to a vertical direction. The jaw is secured to reinforcement of seat. An independent claim is also included for a method for fixing a seat on a floor of a vehicle.
