The seat has a backrest (40) whose back face includes a shell (50). The shell comprises a frame interdependent of a rigid metal external frame (41) of the backrest and a movable central part. The central part is adapted to move in translation opposite of the frame according to a transverse axis to the backrest. A driving unit is adapted to move in translation to the central part in forward direction when the seat slides toward the backrest of a floor of a vehicle. The driving unit includes metal cables (73, 74) that are rolled up around a pulley (71).
