The enclosure element (12) has a display device (20) for displaying the state of an electrical component of a disconnect switch, where the device includes a port-hole (21) and a cover (23) for covering the port-hole in a shielding position relative to the port-hole. The display device includes an indexing and/or maintaining element for indexing and/or maintaining the cover in an open position with respect to the port-hole. A hinge allows articulation of the cover relative to the port-hole, and a spring biases the cover to the shielding position relative to the port-hole. The enclosure element encloses an electrical component in a volume filled with a gas such as fluoroketone or hydrofluoroolefin. An independent claim is also included for a medium voltage electrical apparatus.
