The machine (1) has a frame (6) including arms (4, 41) connected to a towing vehicle (2), so as to be moved in a working direction (T) from the rear towards the front. A rotor (10) equipped with spades (13) is rotatably mounted in the frame along an axis (X) perpendicular to the working direction. A drive mechanism (5) for driving the rotor is connected to a drive shaft of the towing vehicle, where the drive mechanism drives the rotor in a negative direction with respect to the working direction, so that the spades move forward upon contact with soil.
